Sea World

Yesterday, Gavin and I went to Sea World with our friends Kate and Charlie. It was so much fun! Gav and Char played so great together and had a blast looking at the turtles and dolphins, playing on the blue mat, and cuddling with Elmo. Gavin was OBSESSED with Elmo. He was high-pitched-squealing with delight and kept waving and saying "Hi" to him as we approached. He hugged and kissed him and even turned around and sat in Elmo's lap, which made him sit too. I was dying of laughter. What a trooper that Elmo was ;) It's so fun to hang out with other momma's and their kiddos.

I can't  believe my little guy is getting so big! I feel like he was a newborn just yesterday! I took him to the duck pond and park last week and he wanted to wear my hat..does he not look like a big kid here? It sort of freaks me out! I just love him so much and I want to keep him at this age/stage forever. He's not allowed to become a middle-schooler! (lol-I taught 6th grade for 4 years). He is so much fun! He is understanding so many things and surprises us every day. He loves calling dada on the phone and telling him all sorts of hilarious things:)
On Monday, we had fun playing outside and making oatmeal cookies for the first time. (Did I meantion that I LOVE job-sharing??) Gav was so funny..eating the batter the WHOLE time. He isn't the cleanest cooking assisstant;) but he's cute so i'll let it slide. As he watched the cookies bake he kept saying, "Oh, it's hot??!" So funny. Even a day later when I gave him a cookie as a snack he said, "Oh..eees hot?" as he pulled his hand away. His memory is so good!

The little Bun is doing good! Can't wait for our first ultra-sound one week from today!! I feel that my belly is starting to pooch out a little (Ryann even pointed it out to me) so i'm getting a little nervous that their might be two. Wowzers. The anticipation is killing me! haha

Halloween & a lil Pumpkin

This Halloween was the BEST. We got to carve and paint pumpkins, dress up our lil man, have friends and family over for trick or treating and a bbq, and thanks to Aunt Ryann~ we also painted some CUTE bootie cheeks. Best. Halloween. Ever:)

Gavin & Rylie

 Sooo MUCH fun!

Gav was hilarious when we took him to his first house. He handed the Kit Kat back to our neighbor Mike, blabbering to him (he wanted Mike to open it). He started to tense up and cry when we put the piece of candy in his bag. Hahah..he wanted every piece right then and there for each house we went to. He was so cute and Rylie was even cuter saying, "Trickers or Treats" when each new door would open. Melted our hearts.

Cutest monkey ever. He kept saying "ooh, oooh, oooh." and surprisingly he kept his monkey head on the whole night!! We were so excited because the practice runs didn't go as well. hah!

Then...a few days later on November 4th I found out that we will be adding a new lil pumpkin to the Martin family!!

:)

We are SOOOO excited! I took the test and when "pregnant" popped up I said "Yessssssss, Thank you God!!" I had to leave for work since it was Friday, so I left the test on the counter with a note to husband that said, "Can't you just see me with (another) baby on the way??" Those are some lyrics from our wedding song Then, by Brad Paisley. He was so happy and sent me some funny and sweet texts when he got the message. I love that guy. "Good work babe..we're a little P!" haha

Since I had a miscarriage a little over two months ago, we are very nervous and want to wait to tell our families. Last time we told everyone right away and then I miscarried and had to talk to everyone about it A LOT and it made it harder. I have been feeling pretty good with this little bun, except today I have been super nauseous. Gavin and I make choc. chip cookies for the first time and I was so dizzy/almost puking the whole time:)

We go next Wednesday (Nov. 23rd) for our first ultrasound to make sure everything is progressing the way it should. I will be 6 weeks and 6 days so we should see a strong heartbeat for sure. I actually miscarried a set of twins, so we are anxious to find out how many are in there this time around. "They" say that our chances go up to 80% for having another set. Saaaaaay What??? omg. That would be crazy. Right now we are just praying for a healthy heart and for the little bun to stick in there really tight!  Gavin Dean is going to be a big brother!! We are so excited.
Hubs took this belly shot the day after I took the positive pregnancy test:) I want to have before, during, and after pics to look at this time around. Yay for Baby Martin #2!! We love you so much already!  See you next Wednesday baby bun <3

it's 9:57..

and BOTH of my boys are still sleeping!
When does this happen ever?? I'm enjoying some coffee on the couch all by myself and it's lovely.

Yesterday we went to eat some chinese food (gav and dada's favorite!) and play at the pond before church.

I stole some kisses :)

I heard a quote this weekend and I like it. a lot.
Choose your love, love your choice
It's so simple but so true. Life gets crazy and stressful sometimes. I want to always remember that I chose this man to share and grow my life with. Things won't always be perfect but we are lucky to have eachother to lean on and get through the ups and downs. <3

Plus..we make really cute gingers together ;)
Today we are going to carve pumpkins..oh, how I love this time of year! Happy Halloweenie!!

Ps: it's 10:11 and they're still sleeping! wowzers.

Lately..

How cute are these buns? I want to chew them. now.

Sooo it's official. I stink at blogging. I take a million pictures and always think, "Oh I need to write/blog about this moment in detail so I don't forget!" and then...I don't. sad face. So here are a bunch of random moments and things that have been going on around the Martin headquarters.

We went to the river a few months ago for gav's second trip and it was SO much fun.
This is the only family pic we took and jiff is making gaverdeans look like dumbo. typical.

<3

This is Emmers. I'm in love with her. AND I get to watch her sometimes when her pretty momma has to go teach 3rd graders and her daddy has to catch bad guys. Next year (hopefully) her mama is going to JOB SHARE like moi and her life will be way MORE amazeballs.

It smells like October! and it's officially fall:) LOVE it.

Random texts from my babe-a. He makes me laugh.

 Love him.
We flew to Vegas for Frozen Fury (4th annual tradition) on October 1st. It was SO much fun.

Crystal and I at the mgm pool..watching a nice show put on by two "happy" boys having fun with those palm trees behind my head. oh, vegas.

gauntlet of fury.
So nice to have a little weekend gettaway :)

my little martin love.

Lil dean could literally spend all day outside. no joke!

We went to our first Kings game of the season last weekend. It was Gav's 2nd time going, but his first time understanding/being interested in the game. So precious.

gooooo kings. best game ever. Gav was there AND they won 1-0 against the Stars (Boo) with 6 mins left. {Tuuuuuurko} Quick had his THIRD shut out in a row...a new Kings record. They will obtain mr. stanley this year. Hubs and I may or may not have placed a huge bet while we were in Vegas.         {20 big ones..that's how we roll!}

Waaaay past my deanfriend's bedtime. But he was sooo good!

Husband is building me a laundry room. He knows the way to my <3.

Oh, the things that truly excite adult Caitlin:)

Sometimes I think (to myself) that I can't even handle FIRST graders for one more milli-second. I imagine walking out the door, going to my car, and being home with my baby boy..forever! and then they write you the sweetest message with math manipulatives and it MELTS your heart off. I can't wait till Gavin Dean Martin is six. Then I realize that I am only with them for TEN days a month and I feel like a meanie.

mmmm. He's the hottest. I want to kiss him. and He was my FIRST smootch when I was 16. and I was not that cute. I have pics to prove it. True love right there.

I conquered my germaphobic fears and did a mud run with my BEST friend Rae. She convinced me to do it..and I'm so glad she did.

filth. and I couldn't walk for a week. SO much fun!!

We recently took a trip to the patch. I love, love, love, the pumpkin patch! We have always loved carving pumpkins, and since for our second first date we carved a pumpkin together..Jeff proposed by putting my ring in a pumpkin and it was the sweetest. I can't believe that was THREE years ago!(Today actually!) crazy. Time flies. <3

My babe, me, and gav with his lil smirk.

When best friends AND a pumpkin patch come together, you know its gonna be a fantabulous time.

We play on an adult softball league on Friday nights. Gav LOVES his auntie Ryann. He is so blessed to have an aunt like her. AND just for the record: I suck at softball. Last week the ump asked if I was doing tai chi in the outfield. and Donnie asked if I was collecting daises. meanies!

sweetness.

Since being preggo with Gav, I no longer wear heels. I can't stand them  and I may or may not be taller than my hubs with them so it's the perfect excuse not to...so now I have a collection of flats a growin.' Pretty sure Jeff thinks I borrowed these from my grandma.

I just want to chew/kiss on his delicious cheeks and lips all day long. I LOVE this boy!

...and hopefully this month will be the month we make him a lil' friend. ;)

Sweet Thangs

The little man has entered an ACTIVE and exhausting stage. Mommy and daddy were definitely in need of some adult time:) SO..we were so excited to go to the Keith Urban concert this weekend. Jeff got the tickets for our second anniversary on 7.8.10.. Can't believe it has been over TWO years already! and we have a 16 month old! I feel like the days are literally flying by.

Here we are with the gavmonster before taking off for LA..
i love these two SWEET thangs SO much ;)

We dropped off the kiddos with Crystal's parents and headed to Lucky Strike for din din and drinks:) We had so much fun enjoying our friends and eachother without having to chase around our little ginger.

All four of us with Lucky<3

Crys and I :)

Keith and I :)

I love Keith Urban! He is seriously amazing live and I had so much fun signing along to all of my favorite songs with a yummy margarita in hand. I think it's so important to spend time with your hubby without your little one every once and a while. I want to always put my marriage first and enjoy growing old with Jeff. We have so much fun together and when we have a great night out I am always reminded of why I married him. As life gets crazier and more hectic its good to know I have someone by my side forever. I think that is the best gift we could ever give Gavin. A happy marriage for life<3

16 Months

I literally cannot believe my big boy is already 16 months old! Where does the time go?? He is growing by the second and is learning so many new things each day!

Here are some things that Gaverdeans is into these days:
  • Playing outside in the backyard! Gav is super active like his dada and could literally live outside. Loves his tractor, swing, roaming for sticks/leaves, gunner, his water table, the hose, and his lawn mower.

  • His new favorite thing to watch on TV is Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars. He loves the song "Mean" and "The Lazy Song." He loves the singing monkeys with Bruno. It's so hilarious to watch him stare at these two random music videos with his mouth wide open, periodically he will shake his arms and head along:)
  • Gavs loves hiding from us and playing chase! We went to Buybuy Baby yesterday and he was hiding behind the clothes racks and cracking up!
  • He is in a toddler bed and when he wakes up he just comes on out of his room all by himself. It's pretty funny. Lately we have clicked on the monitor and he is not in his bed! We go into his room and find him snoozing in stinkbug position on the floor:( We may need to convert back to the crib for a few more months.
  • We just took his paci away last week and he has been fine, but he is waking up so EARLY now :( Momma and dada like to sleep past 6, bud! We are thinking of giving it to him in his bed only for a little while longer for selfish reasons, obviously. Hey people-he used to sleep from 8-8:30 with it! Plus, he LOVES his paci <3
  • He babbles gibberish all day which is pretty funny to listen to. Words he can say clearly are: mama, dada, bo, dogdog, nana (banana), no<---his favorite word;), oh ba!, baba, Ha (help), bu (book), ooon (balloon<--obsessed with these) and "oh dannnng!"<---courtesy of Aunt Ryann.
  • He loves to pick up phones and have pretend conversations. It cracks us up...and everyone says he learned it from me! pfff. I don't agree. I love when he fake laughs. As I type this he is talking on a Lego phone..haha.
  • Mr. Dean loves reading. His two favorite books are Brown Bear and Toes, Ears, and Nose. He will bring them to hubs and I and say, "buh" hinting he would like it read to him. Love that lil stinker!

  • He naps twice a day: once at 10-12 usually and again at 3:30 or 4...depending on what we are doing. It's been hard for him to sleep in the stroller lately.
  • He loves gunner and bojangs..and loves to jump on them and chase them. Poor puppies.
  • He eats lots of yummy things! Favorites are: steak, rice, green beans, fruit squeezers, bananas, chicken, mac n chee, danimals, goldfish, smoothies, pizza and anything that we are eating or drinking pretty much! You love rice...just like your mama. Jeff says he definitely has my eating pallet (except the pizza-ew.)
  • Homeboy loves water! Baths, the sink, showering (with dada), the hose, his water table (he will climb up in it fully clothed..have to watch him like a hawk), dog bowls, gutters...etc! He had so much fun this summer at the beach, pools, and at the river. We have a little fishie on our hands!

We are really loving this active stage with our little man. We can't wait until he can fully speak to us and tell us what goes on in that big brain of his :)
